Week in Review: Oct 28 – Nov 1

Week in Review: Oct 28 – Nov 1

November 1, 2019 by NC OJD

Happy November! Today marks the official 30 day countdown to #RaiseTheAgeNC. For all the Game of Thrones fans out there, The Long Night is almost over! It feels like we’ve been counting down for the longest.

OJD has been working hard to make sure all of our content is up to date to provide our defenders with the most accurate information to successfully take care of our NC youth. Raise the Age will bring challenges to many, but serve so many more. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to making this possible!

TIP OF THE WEEK:

Looking for RTA Resources?

Check www.ncjuveniledefender.com under the “Raise The Age” tab.  We’ve got links to statutes, brief and extended reviews of the law, charts and PowerPoints.  We also have a special section for materials geared specifically for defenders.  Just contact Latobia.S.Avent@nccourts.org for details.

NJDC JUVENILE DEFENDER LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

Austine & Mario (our Contracts Specialist at IDS) went down to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and was able to take a part in a weekend of workshops, networking and fun. Not saying that we’re jealous, but we are. Take a look at some of the photos:

RFP Meetings

Next week starts an extensive set of RFP meetings throughout NC to discuss the NC Public Defense System The meeting is for Defenders, Judges, Clerks and those who are interested in learning more about what public defense does for our NC residents. Contact Mario Richardson here for any information you may need regarding the dates and times nearest you.

THAT’S IT FOR THIS WEEK! MAKE SURE YOU CHECK BACK NEXT FRIDAY FOR MORE!
