ANNOUNCEMENT: JUVENILE DELINQUENCY CONTRACT POSITION IN YADKIN COUNTY

TO: Defense Bars of Yadkin, Wilkes, Iredell, Surry, Stokes, Forsyth and Davie Counties
There is currently an opening for a juvenile defense contractor for Yadkin County juvenile delinquency court. This position is specifically open and limited to applicants with offices in counties adjoining Yadkin County—Wilkes, Iredell, Surry, Stokes, Forsyth and Davie. Juvenile delinquency court meets in Yadkinville on Thursdays. The contractor may also engage in the private practice of law except in cases where there would be a conflict with a previous assignment arising out of the contract. The prospective contractor will be required to sign a contract with IDS, which will include terms such as attending juvenile defense training, consulting with the Office of the Juvenile Defender, and the entry of cases and dispositions into the NCIDS Case Management Contracting System.
The contract will begin October 1, 2021. Historically, the caseload covered under this contract has averaged roughly three (3) dispositions per month. The contract is for a term of 14 months and a full contract amount of $15,394.12.
