The Office of the Juvenile Defender wishes the youth defender community a wonderful Thanksgiving and holiday!
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we also wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you for the wonderful work that you do for youth throughout the state. Thank you! From our court observations, we have seen firsthand that youth are thankful for your zealous advocacy and passion for their futures. We know this work can be tough and demanding, but we appreciate your commitment to these youth.
We are also grateful for your support and engagement with our office’s trainings. So far this year, we have completed 49defender trainings and youth justice stakeholder events. We trained hundreds of attorneys and youth justice system stakeholders. At each of these trainings, we have enjoyed meeting and engaging with you all. We are thankful for your continued attendance at our events, engagement with our resources, and support of office. We are also grateful to the many defenders who have trained with us for both our in person and virtual trainings! Your wisdom and experience help make our trainings useful and helpful for defenders.
We have also completed 16court observations statewide so far this year. Court observations help us connect with defenders directly in their court environments. It also helps determine how our office can best support defenders. Thanks to many of you all for your help in coordinating these visits!
As we reflect on the year and the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to make sure that you all know that the Office of the Juvenile Defender is grateful for your work and commitment to youth justice.
To conclude, we’d like to encourage to register for our upcoming forums below which are our last in-person CLE training of the year! Don’t miss the opportunity to earn some CLE credit hours and network with local colleague before the year ends. We’d love to see you all.
