The Youth Justice Project of the Southern Coalition for Social Justice and the Durham County Misdemeanor Diversion Program are cosponsoring a Misdemeanor Diversion Program Conference, focusing on sharing information about pre-arrest misdemeanor diversion programs (MDPs) aimed at keeping 16- and 17-year-olds out of the adult criminal system for minor offenses and instead imposing appropriate, individualized and immediate consequences on these youth.
