Join Attorney and Equal Justice Works Fellow Sam Lawerence for an informative session addressing common questions defenders have about Youth Development Centers (YDCs). Attorney Lawerence has dedicated his fellowship to understanding these facilities and advocating for youth within them. He will explore key distinctions between YDCs and adult prisons, outline a typical day for youth at these centers, and discuss the education, treatment, and programs available to our young clients. Additionally, he will highlight advocacy opportunities both before youth enter YDCs and while they are in the facilities.
