Acerca del evento
John A. Tuell, Executive Director for the RFK National Resource Center for Juvenile Justice will present important research highlighting the correlation between child maltreatment and future delinquency and the prevalence of complex trauma among dual status youth. The session will focus on the RFK National Resource Center's seminal four-phase framework that supports sustainable strategies, practices and policies for a more coordinated and aligned child welfare and youth justice system that achieves the possible on behalf of the extremely challenging and vulnerable population. Featuring information and excerpts from the article Achieving the Possible on Behalf of Dual Status Youth, published recently in the Juvenile Justice Update (January 2024), participants will gain valuable insights regarding core practices and approaches that must be collaboratively developed and implemented to replicate success achieved by multiple state and local jurisdictions using the dual status youth framework.
